Ionia County Community Mental Health is a mental health authority – a non-profit agency governed by a board of directors appointed by the Ionia County Board of Commissioners

Your access to Mental Health Services begins with a phone call.

Why should I call ICCMH?

To get services, treatment, or information about:

  • Developmental Disabilities
  • Mental Illness and Recovery
  • Severe Emotional Disturbance
  • Substance Abuse
  • Prevention

What happens when I call?

All calls are treated in a confidential manner.

You will be asked some questions to help us evaluate your needs. You will then be told if you are eligible for public mental health services.

You will help determine which Community Mental Health service or other community services might meet your needs.

Who is eligible for services?

Ionia County residents who qualify:

If your services are not totally covered by Medicaid or an insurance plan with which we are a network provider, your cost will be based on your income. No one will be turned away because of an inability or ability to pay. If you have an insurance plan with which we are not a network provider, we will assist you in finding an appropriate service provider.

What services are available?

Services and supports are designed to meet your individual needs through a process called Person Centered Planning.

Our most commonly requested services include:

  • Crisis intervention
  • Psychiatric Services
  • Life Coping and Problem Solving Skills
  • Employment and Housing Assistance
  • Respite Care
  • Individual, Family, or Group Therapy
  • Home-Based Services
  • Wrap-Around Planning
  • Case Management
  • Older Adult Services

Office Hours:

Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and Saturday hours are available by appointment.

Locations:

Most services are provided in our office at 375 Apple Tree Drive, Ionia, Michigan. Services are also provided at our satellite offices located at 7441 Storey Road, Belding, Michigan, and 208 West Bridge Street, Portland, Michigan. Some services may be provided in your home or another community location.

Staff involved with your care will help you decide the best location for services to be provided to you.

When you have questions about your services, contact your supports coordinator, case manager, primary therapist, or CMH physician directly at 616-527-1790.

If you need language interpretation assistance, it will be provided to you at no cost.
